Cold Weather Alert

Cold Snap tonight – what you can do to help

Dublin Simon Community Emergency and Outreach Teams are bracing for a cold snap from 9:00pm tonight, with temperatures set to drop as low as -5 Celsius with widespread frost due across the country over the next few days.

There are many people who need our help and support during this time.

Our Assertive Street Outreach operates 365 days a year from 7am – 1am, the team will be paying particular attention to those most at risk during this cold weather and is asking for the public’s help in identifying people who may be sleeping outdoors in more out of the way places in the city centre and suburbs of Dublin.

Additionally, Dublin Simon’s volunteer Soup Run and Breakfast Run teams also operate throughout the year and will bring comfort through hot soup, tea and nutritious food to people sleeping rough around Dublin city centre.

Your continued support helps us to bring more people in off the streets and into safe, warm, and supported accommodation, especially during cold weather snaps such as these.

Let us know immediately if you spot someone sleeping rough, by using the Rough Sleeper Alerts app (available on iPhones and Androids).
