Congratulations to ten of our incredible nurses at our Health and Addiction Care Facility at Usher’s Island, who have recently graduated from the Addiction Care in the Health System course from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland

Samantha Makiwa, Senior Manager for our Clinical Services, played a key role in the development of this course, in collaboration with the RCSI. She explains “At Dublin Simon Community, we have a long-standing and valued partnership with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). This course equips our nurses with the knowledge and skills to understand, assess, and treat addiction through evidence-based, person-centred approaches. It covers the science, social impact, and policy landscape of addiction, enabling participants to deliver more effective and compassionate care.”

Join us in celebrating this milestone and the positive impact it will have on our clients
