About the Dublin Simon Fun Run

The Dublin Simon Fun Run is the longest running charity event in the Phoenix Park. It's a five KM run, five kilometers of fun! It is not only a fun day out but a very important fundraiser for the Dublin Simon Community.

Registration will provide you with entry into the race, a Fun Run goody bag including a Fun Run 2011 t-shirt, and your own personal chip so you can time your race. There will also be loads and loads of spot prizes on the day and we will have medals for all school participants, and young runners in the 8 - 12 year olds 800 metre race and the U7s 200 metre dash.  You can now register online on our brand new Fun Run site or you can register on the morning of the Fun Run at the Papal Cross from 9am onwards. Registration on the morning is €25.

Registration for all runners is €20 and school groups can register as a group for €15. These registration fees cover the cost of the event and as this is a big fundraiser for Dublin Simon we would love if you were able to raise a few euros in sponsorship which will go directly to the provision of our services throughout Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow for people who are expereincing homelessness. You can now set up your own Sponsor Me page through the website to make fundraising fun and easy!

An example of how the money will be spent includes:

€25 will provide our Rough Sleeper Team with an emergency pack for someone sleeping on the streets. These packs include a back-pack with a built in sleeping mat, a sleeping bag and a rain jacket.

€50 will provide a person with a bed, food and a place to spend a safe and secure night in one of our residential services.

€100 could provide a home starter pack for those who are moving into their own home.

So any amount you can raise is aid of Dublin Simon Community is greatly appreciated. Best of luck and we'll see you on the 8th!!
