How to set up your fundraising event

The first step is to decide on what fundraiser you want to do. Something that you enjoy or are skilled in is always great start

Get in touch with us to let us know about your fundraiser. Our dedicated team is on hand to help. Make sure you let us know as soon as possible

You can get in touch by filling out the online fundraiser form at the bottom of this page.

Having a good plan for your event will allow everything to go smoothly on the day. So, creating a start to finish plan of the whole event is important.

Select a date and time: make sure it’s a date that as much of your audience can attend as possible – also make sure you give yourself enough time to get everything in order

Think of a location: Pick a place where everyone in your audience can get to – If you are holding an event in a public place you will need to get a permit.

Set your budget / target: Think of a target that you think you can reach but that won’t be too easy. Local businesses might be happy to make a matching contribution if you get in touch.

Setting up a virtual fundraising page will make it easier to tell your audience the story of your fundraiser as well as making it easier to share on social media.

Funds that are raised through these platforms are directly transferred into our bank account which makes it much easier for you too.

We recommend iDonate.

Effectively communicating to your audience can be make a big impact on the success of your fundraiser.

The main task once you’re finished an event is to transfer the raised funds to Dublin Simon Community. If you are using an online donations page then this is completed automatically.
