Ross Byrne: Home is where the heart is

Leinster star encouraging public to back Simon Home Run

Leinster and Ireland rugby player Ross Byrne is calling on running and walking enthusiasts to make a real difference this spring.

The out-half star wants to see thousands of people lace up their running shoes and join the movement for homes by registering for the Simon Home Run.

The 36th Simon Home Run takes place on Saturday, 9th March at 10.30am in the picturesque surroundings of the Phoenix Park.

Speaking at the launch of Dublin Simon Community’s annual 5 mile (8km) run, Ross Byrne said; “This is my second year supporting the Simon Home Run and I’m proud to be an ambassador for the Dublin Simon Community. The work that they do every day, not just in Dublin but the surrounding counties, is invaluable to the thousands of people currently trapped in homelessness.”

Byrne concluded by saying; “The Simon Home Run is a fantastic opportunity for the public and the wider community to come together and help raise, not just awareness, but funds to help support their vital services. I’d encourage as many people as possible to register now and support the Simon Home Run on 9th March.”

So get those running shoes on and join the movement for homes! Register now and learn more by going to www.homerun.ie
