For over 50 years, Dublin Simon Community has been a shining light for people in a time of darkness. What began as a group of likeminded people who wanted to see change has evolved into the large community we have today. While much has changed since then, our mission and values remain the same. We are still committed to making home a reality for our clients and closing the door on homelessness. That is the legacy we want to leave, and we believe that everyone, including our supporters, can be a part of it.

In Memory Giving

Donations made in memory of a loved one are a meaningful way to celebrate their life. They can bring comfort while honouring a loved one’s memory and making a real difference to people experiencing homelessness

Many families choose to request donations to Dublin Simon Community in lieu of flowers. Your Funeral Director can help arrange this thoughtful gesture, ensuring there is no additional burden on the family. You can let family and friends know about your wishes by including details in your loved one’s funeral notice.

We aim to make donating in memory as straightforward as possible. If you would rather not receive further communication from us, please let us know.

How do I make a will? 

An up-to-date will ensures your wishes for your family and any charities you support will be clearly understood. A solicitor will guide and advise you on all aspects of writing your will. You can find a local solicitor on the Law Society of Ireland’s website here: https://www.lawsociety.ie/find-a-solicitor or you can make your own will at www.lawonline.ie.  

What details will my solicitor need?

You will need the following details for your solicitor when making your will: 

  • Name: Dublin Simon Community 
  • Registered Address: 5-7 Red Cow Lane, Smithfield, Dublin 7 
  • Charity Registration Number: 20009892 
What gifts can I leave to Dublin Simon Community in my will? 

You can take ownership of what you leave behind to Dublin Simon Community to support the thousands of people who deal with homelessness everyday. You can choose to leave us a specific amount of money in your will or a share of your estate to us, which will be used to support the most vulnerable in our community. It is also possible to leave a specific item, such as property stocks, shares, furniture or jewellery. 

Does a small gift make a difference?

Any gift, no matter how big or small, is hugely appreciated and will be put to best use in order to have a lasting impact on those experiencing homelessness. 

I have already made my will – can I leave a gift to Dublin Simon Community?

Yes – updates to wills are common and easy to do, and your solicitor will help you do this. 

Will Dublin Simon Community use my gift in an environmentally sustainable manner?

Yes, Dublin Simon Community is committed to minimising our environmental impact and operating as sustainably as possible across all our services and activities. We’ve recently begun our ESG journey, taking active steps to ensure our services and operations are as sustainable as possible, while continuing to support those most in need.
