Learning & Development

If you would like to help Dublin Simon provide education and training to the people that use our services, you can support us with a thoughtful donation of whatever you can afford.

Dublin Simon Community's Learning and Development service aims to engage people using our services in education, training, employment and personal development.

By providing classes and workshops we wish to encourage personal development, active participation and greater social interaction. We believe meaningful activities are central to providing structure, purpose, wellbeing, intellectual stimulation, self-esteem, socialisation and independence in the lives of people using our services through:

  • Meaningful Activities such as photography, art, crafts, creative writing, cookery and many more .
  • Literacy classes on an individual and group basis.
  • Courses on health and wellbeing, personal development and life coaching.
  • Scrappy But Happy, the artwork and creative writing series by people using our services.
  • Recognition events to showcase service users’ participation and their work.
  • Information and support to access community education, training, employment and voluntary options.
  • Information on educational scholarships, bursaries and grants.
  • Promoting external education, training and employment events.
  • External networks and partnerships to share learning and identify systemic barriers to people who are homeless accessing progression routes.

Referrals
The Learning and Development service is open to people who avail of or have used the services of Dublin Simon Community.
