The Stabilisation/Respite service is primarily for those who are homeless and HIV positive but who may also have complex needs such as alcohol and/or drug addiction and other complex health problems such as Hepatitis C or mental health issues.

131 people accessed the Stabilisation/Respite service in 2017.

“I soon realised that the people working with us really did care. All their support gives people like myself and others a safe place where we can come and get the respite care that we need.”

– Jason, Simon Client

The service is a safe, comfortable, professional place where clients can work towards stabilising their health and lifestyle in a supportive environment. It’s an opportunity for clients to get off the streets and get assistance with putting their health to the top of the agenda again.

The service has a capacity of eight beds for a short term stay of three-six weeks depending on treatment plan. We have 24 hour nursing cover on site and clients availing of the service have access to Visiting Doctors Monday to Friday. GP Primary Care Service two hours daily, referrals to relevant health, addiction and homeless services such as methadone clinics, tenancy sustainment services, community services, specialised clinics and specialised primary health care and individualised care plans.
