Christmas Craic Linkedin

Hello and Welcome!

Thank you so much for your participation in our brand-new campaign: Christmas Craic for Dublin Simon Community!

This year has been a year like no other. Due to the ongoing pandemic and the resulting economic crisis, there has been an unprecedented increase in demand on our services from those in need of support. With job losses and major drops in income, not to mention people falling ill and others having to care for them, the pandemic has turned the housing crisis into a full-blown emergency.

As roughly 50% of our frontline services are funded through our fundraising efforts, support from organisations and individuals like yourself has never been more important. Your support this winter will help ensure that those who rely on our vital services will be supported through the Christmas season and into 2021.

As a participant in this new, virtual campaign, we’ll be in touch weekly to give insights and context around how your support is impacting Dublin Simon. We have set up your very own JustGiving page here.

With over 24 different services across Dublin Simon, we’ll try to give you a snapshot of what our work does and how supporters like you fit into it.

In the meantime, if you’d like any further information on our work, please feel free to have a look at our 2019 Annual Review, released in September this year. As well, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at Partnerships@dubsimon.ie

That’s all for now! Thanks again for your participation in this year’s Christmas fundraising – we’re really looking forward to working with you and the LinkedIn team.

All the best,

Dublin Simon Community Corporate Partnerships Team

Happy Monday to you all,

Dublin Simon welcomes you to Week 1 of our festive campaign, Dublin Simon’s Christmas Craic!

This is the very first week of your 3 week involvement in our Christmas initiative, a roller coaster of fundraising activities, competition and wholehearted engagement in helping us support those who are most vulnerable to the pandemic. Christmas will be very different to any before however, we have that covered to ensure you can still have some craic during this festive season.

Week by week we will be sending you updates on the impact you are having on our services, with personalised videos, tours and interviews to outline the importance of your support. We have also set up your very own JustGiving page here where you can keep tabs on your progress and use it as a place to encourage others in your team to reach your target. Make sure to register when donating, so you can download a receipt for LinkedIn to then gift match!

We have also set up your own personal webpage where you check up on weekly updates here. And if that competitive edge was not enough, we have also set up a leaderboard page you can access here where you can see how well you fare against external participants and get that healthy rivalry going!

Christmas Craic, is about, well, having the craic! We want to make sure we have put the fun in fundraising and work together towards raising vital funds for our services. In your first week we hope to see your inventive and competitive gastronomical creations, make sure to send in a photo of your dish to my email by Thursday the 3rd of December. A judging panel will decide and nominate our favourite LinkedIn chef!

We have attached an email signature for the team at LinkedIn to show your support for us this Christmas. From the start of the campaign until the end we will be here to help, participate and share your festive cheer and spirit of giving with our clients and help towards making their dream of a home, a reality.
For any information or queries in the meantime you can contact me on 086 046 3303 or email at PhaedraVlahos@dubsimon.ie

We are very excited to work with you all on this, so let’s all have the craic this Christmas!

Good morning to you all at LinkedIn,

And welcome to Week 2 of Dublin Simon’s Christmas Craic!

This week sees us in the throes of December, Christmas trees are up and the festive season is truly upon us. With some socialising allowed we can all enjoy dinners and some festive activities this month. However this is not case for everyone, as so many face a much longer term of isolation and these are very the people you are helping us support.

On that note I invite you to take a moment to delve into some of the fantastic work done in our services with a clip of Niamh Brennan, Manager of our High Support Accommodation in Oak House.

This week also sees you all in the last week of your fundraising journey with us, so thank you again to everyone involved, team work makes the dream work!

You will be hosting a Virtual Coffee Afternoon on the Friday the 18th of December at 12pm, where we will talk through the work we do here in Dublin Simon and the effect your donations will have to our services. So, remember to keep an eye on your JustGiving page here, the funds keep coming in and we are only a few days away from the finishing line!

This week also sees the results for the winner of LinkedIn’s Baby Face Competition, which will culminate this Friday the 18th, make sure to hand in your answers before our coffee afternoon. All you have to do is fill out the survey here and be in a chance to win Bravo Points, just in time for a pre-Christmas treat!

Lastly, I wanted to leave you with a Thank You message of participation from our CEO, Sam McGuiness. Your had work is so appreciated from all of us here at Dublin Simon.

Hope you enjoyed Sam’s words and I wish you a fantastic week and thank you again for your kind support this Christmas!
