Residential Alcohol Rehabilitation Service
Our aim is to provide a safe, supportive, medically assisted detoxification programme to allow individuals to address their addictions, primarily alcohol, so as to move out of homelessness.
We Do This By:
- Providing a residential low threshold rehabilitation support programme.
- Using a holistic (whole person) approach to identify issues contributing to addiction and homelessness.
- Using a holistic (whole person) approach to address the individual’s needs around addiction and homelessness.
- Contributing to the education and empowerment of individuals around their addictions.
- Supporting individuals to establish support networks in preparation for moving out of homelessness so as to access ongoing mainstream support and re-integrate into mainstream society.
The Program
Our Rehab unit is a twelve bedded unit, with 24 hour Project worker cover on site. The abstinent based structured program has group work and one to one support. You will have a keyworker assigned on admission and together we will work towards your achievement of your set goals and targets. A holistic needs assessment and care plan is started in your first week and is worked on in the weekly one-to-one support sessions with your keyworker.
Keyworking sessions address the following areas:
- Addiction/ alcohol use – setting of goals to achieve sobriety
- Education/work placements and meaningful activity
- Budgeting
- Social life
- Family relationships
- Legal Issues
- Move-on options
Group Work is facilitated by the Rehab Team.
The weekly group program has two main elements;
- Relapse Prevention - where you develop and practice coping skills to deal with high risk situations and prevent relapse.
- Life skills – where you develop the skills and confidence to start creating a positive lifestyle that does not include alcohol and to live independently.
