New Government Includes Homelessness in Programme for Recovery
Following ongoing lobbying prior to Election 2011, the new Programme for Government has included a number of pointers in relation to homelessness, all of which Simon welcomes. To see the relevant exerts from the Programme for Government related specifically to housing and homelessness please click here. There are many other commitments required that will impact on the delivery of homeless services over the short term including mental health commitments and the Universal Health Insurance Scheme. Simon will continue to work with and lobby the government as we enter into an extremely challenging time in relation to homelessness. You can view excerts from our pre-election submission to the general public for how they can help here. These guiding pointers are still extremely relevant when talking to you local representatives so act now and put homelessness on their agenda.
